Overview.
20 Days explore best of Uganda is a lifetime safari full of unforgettable memories. This safari will take you to all corners of the country starting from the city tour, visiting the national parks, white water rafting, wildlife in the top tourist destinations, the endangered mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, best cultures, waterfalls that hug steep cliffs.
This safari will take you to Uganda’s national parks each park exhibiting a unique experience. The safari starts from Entebbe and ends in Entebbe.
Upon arrival, meet our company representative who will greet you, welcome you to the country and then take you through the entire itinerary while here in Uganda. After greetings and briefing, the driver guide will transfer you to the hotel where you will have dinner as you acclimatize to Uganda’s conditions.
Arise in the morning for a scrumptious breakfast, meet your driver guide and go for a city tour. This will be in Kampala and it will start by visiting Uganda Wildlife Education Center (UWEC), here you will spot some animals like elephants, tigers, lions, crocodiles, then later proceed to Kabaka’s Palace (King of Buganda), learn about the Baganda culture, visit the Kabaka’s Lake which is the biggest manmade Lake.
Thereafter proceed to Uganda museum which is the oldest in East Africa, later on go for lunch and embark on the journey to Jinja, arriving in the late evening, check-in to your lodge accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Arise in the early morning, have a scrumptious breakfast and go out to explore the beauty of Jinja. You will start with visiting the source of the Nile where it escapes from Uganda to the North Africa pouring its waters in the Mediterranean Sea, visit Itanda falls and thereafter you will go for a boat cruise on the gentle waters of the Nile as you enjoy the lush green vegetation that inhabits different bird species and some monkeys that decorate the forests.
You will have hot lunch and transfer to Sipi falls another beautiful experience a wait for you, you will visit these beautiful falls which will give you entire opposite feeling from Itanda falls. You will engage with locals who will take you through the tea processing, enjoy magical view and wind up your day by retiring to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You will wake for a lazy breakfast, check-out of the room, meet your driver guide and transfer to Pian Upe game reserve which is a 3:30 to 4hours drive. This is the second largest protected area in Uganda after Murchison Falls National Park, this game reserve will give you a splendid experience.
Arrive here in the afternoon time, check-in to the lodge, enjoy a yummy lunch and later go for evening game drive. You will be welcomed by the ostriches, monkeys, baboons, herds of buffaloes, roan antelopes, klipspringer, blue and common duiker among others. Return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight stay.
Wake up early in the morning and hit the jungle to meet the animals when they are very active before they shy away from the hot temperatures of the day. Early morning game drive gives you a chance to find when the nocturnal animals are winding up with their night duties and the early risers will be heading to look for fresh pastures. Enjoy the sunrise, visit different kopjes and animal viewpoints. You will spot cheetahs, buffaloes, ostriches, kobs, giraffes, a number of bird species will be giving you sweet melodies from their nests.
After this expanse experience, return to the lodge, have your breakfast, have your lunch packed and transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park which occupies the horn of Uganda in the far north. Arrive in Kidepo in the evening hours, check-in to the lodge, relax and have an overnight stay.
This is another beautiful day to explore the beauty of Kidepo the true wilderness of Uganda. The park has over 80 species with 28 species not found elsewhere in Uganda for example; mountain reedbuck, greater and lesser kudu, caracal among others. Most of the animals are found near the water dwelling places for example in Kidepo Valley and Narus Valley these valleys are also harbor rivers which are Kidepo and Narus river which are sources of water for animals.
The endless plains of Kidepo will allow you a chance to cover a huge area especially when you stand on animal viewpoints as guided by the ranger guide. You will spot lions, cheetahs, zebras, cape buffaloes, giraffes, common elands, birds will be available for you as well. Enjoy a picnic lunch and proceed with game drive, retire to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
This is another beautiful day for you to explore the beauty of Kidepo Valley National Park. Hiking to this mountain is another experience of life that can’t be matched, hiking will begin early in the morning and now you will hit two birds with one stone in a way that as you hike, you will be meeting animals, birds, enjoy the sunrise over the Mountain as they strike the plains of Kidepo.
Hiking takes about 4 hours, on top of Morungole mountain there is a tribe called IK, they are so welcoming, they will entertain you briefly, then return to the lodge, relax, have lunch and later visit the Karamajong people in their small huts known as Manyatta, these people have a lot for you in stock and they will entertain you full, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You will have a lazy breakfast, check-out of the lode and transfer to Murchison which is the largest National Park in Uganda with large population of lions, leopards, buffaloes, African savannah elephants, giraffes, over 450 bird species among others, all a wait for you. Arriving will be in the evening, check-in to the lodge accommodation, relax and have dinner.
Arise in the early morning, grab a cup of tea/coffee and head to the jungle to catch up with the animals when they are still very active before the temperatures soar. You will be able to spot lions, elephants, leopards, herds of buffaloes, Rothschild giraffes, bushbucks, monkeys, baboons, to mention but a few.
Afterwards you will return to the lodge in the midmorning, relax, enjoy the ambiance of the lodge, have lunch and later go for a boat cruise to meet the strongest waterfalls in the whole world. As you cruise on water, you will meet a school of hippopotamus, crocodiles, water loving birds, elephants will be on the shore as well, you will visit the top of he falls to get the view of the waterfalls from the above, you will take pictures, enjoy the sunset as well, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Arise in the early morning, have a delicious breakfast, check-out of the lodge and transfer to Kibale Forest National with an en-route to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for tracking rhinos. This is another beautiful experience to meet these inselberg creatures in their natural habitat and tracking will take you about 2 hours and after tracking the rhinos, you will have covered Africa’s Big 5 which are; lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants and rhinos.
Embark on your journey to the western Uganda, lunch will be along the way, arriving Kibale Forest National Park in the late evening, check-in to the lodge accommodation, have dinner and overnight.
Arise early in the morning, enjoy your breakfast and go to Kanyanchu which is a briefing center, be briefed about the tracking etiquettes, be allocated chimpanzee family and then head to the jungle with a ranger guide. This park is known as Primates’ capital for Uganda and it harbors over 13 species of primates, over 370 bird species.
Chimpanzee trekking takes about 2-6 hours depending on where they spent the last night, you will spend an hour with them, take pictures and videos, return to the lodge for lunch as you wait for the walk to the Bigodi wetland. This wetland is famous for hosting over 200 bird species and a good birder can spot over 50 birds, primates, and other animals like sitatungas will be seen.
On this beautiful day, you will awake up at your time of convenience for a delicious breakfast that will be served at your balcony, check-out of the lodge and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The journey will take you about 2:30 hours, arriving in the afternoon, check-in to the lodge, enjoy a hot lunch and later go an evening launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will be able to see herds of buffaloes and elephants along the shores, birds like cormorants, kingfishers, you will also enjoy the sunset, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
on the 13th day of 20 days explore Uganda, you will arise in the early morning, have a fantastic breakfast and head to the jungle to catch the early risers and also the nocturnal animals like leopards, hyenas, lions will be going back to their dens. You will be welcomed by herds of elephants, buffaloes, hippopotamus will be moving on the bare ground, waterbucks and bushbucks will be staring at you as kobs are mating, fighting, and paying.
Later return to the lodge for lunch, relax a bit and head to Katwe which is a salt-lake in Uganda. You will visit Bunyaruguru craters which are over 20 crater lakes and they are in Kichwamba escarpment of western rift valley, enjoy scenic views, retire to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
You will wake up for a delicious breakfast, meet your driver guide and check-out and transfer to Bwindi via Ishasha sector where you will see tree climbing lions, elephants, buffaloes, kobs, later have a picnic lunch and proceed with your journey to Bwindi arriving in the evening hours, check-in to the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay.
Grab a cup of coffee/tea in the early morning and head to the park headquarters for a briefing about the trekking habits, be allocated a gorilla family and head to the thick forests with a ranger guide who will help you to locate the gorillas, as you are tracking the gentle primates, you will be enjoying beautiful misty canopies that will be hosting birds, after meeting the gorillas, spend an hour with them as you are taking pictures and videos.
Return to the lodge for a relaxation and lunch, then in the evening visit the Batwa community and enjoy their dances, songs, ancient stories and then return to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
You will wake up on your time of convenience, have a delicious breakfast served at your balcony as you are catching feelings with nature. After breakfast, you will relax a briefly at the lodge then later have your lunch packed and vacate the park head to Lake Bunyonyi which is the deepest lake in Uganda with over 29 Islands with each Island having unique experience. Arriving in Bunyonyi will be in the evening, check-in to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
This day will be marvelous for you to explore the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi where you will be engaged in different activities for example canoeing while visiting different Islands including Akempene Island normally known as punishment Island where girls who could conceive before marriage would be dumped and died from there, those who enjoy swimming, Lake Bunyonyi is one of the bilharzia free, you will engage in Ziplining across the lake, your lunch shall be served overlooking the lake, retire to the lodge in the late evening for dinner and overnight.
After a morning breakfast, you will check-out of the lodge and then be driven to Mburo National Park which is the nearest National Park from Kampala. The park is congested with wildlife for example zebras, hyenas, buffaloes, elands, giraffes, leopards among others. Arriving here will be in the afternoon hours, do an evening game drive and retire to your lodge for dinner.
Boat cruise on Lake Mburo is another magical experience that will expose you to different animals especially the water loving animals. Meet a school of hippopotamuses, buffaloes, crocodiles as you enjoy the cool breeze from the water.
In the evening after a scrumptious lunch, you will go with a guide tom the jungle on the horse’s back to catch another feeling with nature. Return to the lodger after sunset for dinner and overnight.
