The 21 Days Uganda Safari Holiday offers a 3-long week wilderness experience in Uganda’s finest destination. Unlike other trip packages, this 3-week epic holiday encompasses all regions of Uganda. The key areas of interest include Mabira Forest for zip lining, Jinja to experience whitewater rafting along the Nile River, Sipi Falls for a rewarding hike to the 3 waterfalls, game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls national park and primate encounters –especially chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park and mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Tour Itinerary

On arrival at the Entebbe International Airport (EBB), you will be greeted by your Uganda driver. Start your journey to a hotel in Kampala, and today, you will spend about 1 hour depending on the jam. Kampala is the main capital city of Uganda and country’s biggest city with over 1680,000 people living in its 5 divisions.

Located in Buikwe District, Mabira Forest is a tropical rainforest set between the main Kampala capital city and Jinja. Today, you will be picked up and transferred to Mabira driving along the Kampala-Jinja highway and en route, drive through Mukono town, Lugazi. Possible stopovers include Ssezibwa falls and arrive at Mabira forest a 300sq.km natural forest.

At Mabira, enjoy zip lining while viewing the scenic forest canopy on the set zip-line system. The entire experience may last for 3-4 hours with a chance for you to encounter some interesting primates, birds and others. From Mabira, continue to Jinja on a scenic road trip while viewing the extensive Sugarcane plantations and the Source of the Nile while you connect to your hotel.

Early in the morning, have breakfast and after, join other visitors for briefing about dos and don’ts for whitewater rafting adventure. After, embark on your adrenaline adventure as you head to the heart of the Nile River navigating via the powerful rapids and grades. You will be conquering Grade 4-5, taking about half day or full day, then you get back to the hotel for relaxation.

A leisurely breakfast will be followed by transfer to Sipi Falls, with en route view of distinct landscape in the Eastern circuit in Uganda featuring sugarcane farms, rice fields and others. Arrive early for lunch and set off for your actual hike to explore the triple Sipi Falls.

Get a chance not only to marvel the natural wonders but also the beautiful surrounding areas. The triple Sipi Falls flow downslope from Mt. Elgon lying at elevation of 1775m and 4 hours’ hike offers mesmerizing experience as you conquer varying falls: 100m, 85m and 65m.

Delicious breakfast early in the morning and you set off to Kidepo Valley National Park. Your trip will involve navigating via the beautiful Mbale city eastwards to Kidepo while enjoying the views of the breathtaking Karamoja plains.

Arrive at the park early enough and check in at your respective accommodation for relaxation, dinner and a night stay.

Start your day with a hefty breakfast and after, begin your wildlife expedition at Apoka taking 2-3 hours via the Narus Valley. In a 4×4 tourist car, expect to search for diversity of wildlife ranging from zebras, giraffes, elephants, cheetahs, elands, oribis, buffaloes, and countless bird species like ostriches.

Get back to be provided lunch at the lodge then late in the afternoon; you will visit the Karamojong villages. Learn about the unique traditions, cultures and practices of the Karamojong plus also get entertained by local dances and music performances.

This day is dedicated for you to hike to the IK home on Mt. Morungole. The trek takes you up to the height of 2750m with an experienced guide, while viewing the landscapes of the extreme North-eastern Uganda, the semi-arid and other nearby areas. At the summit, meet the IK people, and start with your exploration about their cultures, traditions and later, return to the lodge for relaxation.

Wake up early and be prepared to spend long hours connecting from Northeastern Uganda to the Northwest. As you exit, enjoy the breathtaking view of the countryside Karamoja vast plains, homesteads and descend down to Murchison Falls National Park. The rest of the evening will be for relaxation, dinner and night stay in a comfortable safari lodge.

After a hefty breakfast, you will set off on a memorable guided game drive through the Northern game tracks. This park is a popular home to 4 of the big 5 game –cape buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, and these can be spotted together with bushbucks, Rothschild giraffes, hartebeest, Oribis, warthogs, and hyenas plus birds.

Drive back while still encountering more wildlife and birds. A good moment will be had while at the lodge and in the afternoon, you will be part of the boat cruise on Victoria Nile heading to the base of Murchison Falls. On a boat cruise, you will be searching for hippos, crocodiles and water birds such as fish eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters and more. At the bottom of the falls, trek for 45 minutes to the top of the falls passing via the lush vegetation and also spotting some birds. At the top of the falls, you will be blown away with powerful roar of the falls as it squeezes itself into a narrow rock of 7-8m and plunge 43 m.

Enjoy a hefty breakfast and you will be picked up in the morning ready to connect up to Kibale National Park. The Murchison Falls NP-Hoima-Fort Portal route comes with remarkable views of the Albertine rift escarpments and dotted homesteads around Hoima.

Proceed and around Fort Portal, make a brief stopover around the beautiful tea farms for the locals to demonstrate to you how they harvest tea. Lunch will be enjoyed on arrival at Fort Portal tourism city, then you will continue to the lodge.

Leave the lodge for briefing which starts at 7:00am and this will be done by the tourism park official. You will get to know the guidelines for chimpanzee trekking and by 8:00am, begin your trek to see chimpanzees in a group consisting of 6pax each assigned the park guide.

Wind through the lush tropical Kibale forest for 2-4 hours and the morning trek brings you up close and personal with chimpanzee community. Once you locate a troop of chimpanzees, a maximum of one hour will be enjoyed face-to-face with these apes. In addition to encountering chimpanzee troops, you will be sighting other primates such as red-tailed monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, red colobus monkeys, olive baboons, Vervet monkeys and others.

Get back and lunch will be offered at the lodge, relax and you will be transferred to Bigodi wetland. At Bigodi, spend 2-3 hours exploring different species in this swamp with an experienced guide.

You will be visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park, and this involves driving via the Crater dominated route and at distance, enjoy view of the Rwenzori Mountains and Western Rift Valley. Drive through Kasese town as you connect to the lodge inside or around Queen Elizabeth NP. Have a relaxed stay, leisurely lunch and proceed with afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel.

The Kazinga channel boat cruise will enjoyed for 2 hours with an experienced guide. The channel extends up to about 32km and along its banks; you will be spotting hippos, crocodiles, water birds and in the surrounding, don’t miss the spectacular Mweya Peninsular.

Begin your day with a hefty breakfast and after, take the Kasenyi plain path for an exciting morning game drive. First, register with the park authorities and continue with the morning search for your favorite animals in a 4×4 vehicle and experienced guide. Take about 2-3 hours in the sweeping Kasenyi plains, while keeping eyes on the park’s endowed wildlife including cape buffaloes, elephants, lions, antelopes, leopards, warthogs and birds.

Drive back to check out of the lodge and set off to Bwindi but first, make a stop visit at Ishasha for you to search for the tree climbing lions. Exit Ishasha on a scenic drive journey featuring the rolling hills in Kigezi region. Continue to the park to check in at the lodge for relaxation and overnight stay in Buhoma sector.

Arise early morning for a hot cup of tea/coffee and after, you will leave accommodation facility for briefing about gorilla trekking rules. But you join other visitors, you will first clear with the authorities. The real trekking begins around 8:00am with the park guide leading you in a group consisting of 8pax. If you happen to have heavy luggage, you will need to hire a porter to assist in carrying to allow you concentrate in your adventure.

The entire trek goes for 2-6 hours and this includes one hour for up close and personal with a family of mountain gorillas assigned to you. Observing how mountain gorillas and taking their pictures will be done during the one hour. This is the most mind-blowing moment and every trekker’s favorite time, therefore ensure that the camera is set with no flashlight.

Begin walking back to the lodge and gorilla trekking certificates will be given at the park offices. At the lodge, have adequate time relaxing and late in the afternoon, your local guide will accompany you to Batwa pygmies’ community. The cultural visit to the Batwa community allows you learn the different traditions, cultures and to be entertained by locals.

You will leave Buhoma for Mgahinga National Park by car, and upon arrival, you will check in at the lodge inside the park or around it. Relax at accommodation and later in the afternoon, you will be visiting Lake Mutanda for a boat ride. The boat ride lasts for 2-3 hours and you will be exploring Mutanda Island and enjoy the spectacular view of the nearby volcanoes.

After breakfast, you will be picked up and transferred to Ntebeko reception for briefing on the golden monkey trekking regulation at Ntebeko. You will be led by an experienced guide starting at 8:00am and navigate via the lush rainforest for 2-4 hours with a park guide.

Your camera should be set for photography once you come across a troop of golden monkeys, observe how these primates behave during the one hour. Return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay in one of the best lodges around Mgahinga.

Begin driving from the extreme Southwestern Uganda to mid-western. Your journey comes with amazing views of Kigezi highlands and arrive at Lake Mburo NP home to zebras early enough to relax at the lodge.

Early in the morning, you will embark on a game drive with an experienced guide and your target will be sighting the early risers, plus other mammals as they become active for the day. Myriad of wild animals to encounter in the savannas of Lake Mburo NP include zebras, elands, Topis, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, buffaloes, leopards, impalas, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, and many birds.

You will be back to the lodge for lunch, relaxation and in the afternoon, you will be set off for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. You will see lots of hippos, crocodiles and water birds.

After breakfast, you will be led through the 2-hour walking safari. Today’s guided walk allows you look out for your favorite wildlife at a close including impalas, birds, zebras, and others.

Get back to be served lunch, relax and later in the afternoon, you will pay a visit to Ankole villages. Get to know the different practices in Ankole culture, their traditions, norms and more or have hands-on milking experience.

At leisure, have breakfast and you will check out of the lodge in Lake Mburo and set off at Lake Mburo National Park. Enroute to Kampala, make a stopover at the Equator crossing and you may perform water experiment or simply take pictures between the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast and you will set off on a guided city tour. Visit some of the nearby cultural and historical sites including the Museum, Namugongo martyrs shrine, Gadhafi mosque and local markets then continue to Entebbe Airport. End of 21 Days Uganda tour.
