Overview

This 4 days Nyungwe Primate Safari is designed to provide visitors with opportunities to explore Kigali the capital city of Rwanda. You will visit a lot of exciting places in the city ranging from museums to art galleries, nice restaurants, and other historical monuments. Visitors will also have exciting moments with primates in Rwanda the heart of Africa for instance chimpanzees as the highlights and others such as Vervet monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest’s, and blue monkeys.

The trip will be led by professional tourist guides with the help of game rangers who will accompany the tourists in the National Park while providing information about the primates. The trip has been made in collaboration with the best service providers to improve the comfort of the visitor in the jungle.

Tour Itinerary

Pick up from the airport by the professional tourist guide in a tourist van and embark on the journey to the Kigali genocide museum. The visit to the museum will last around two hours and visitors will have different insights into what the genocide was like and its effects in 1994. At around 1:00 PM guests will be served lunch at the Museum café.

After lunch probably at 2:00 PM visitors will embark on their journey to Niyo Art Gallery to help them have a view of what the artists of Rwanda’s talents look like and also provide opportunities for them to buy souvenirs that remind them of their Kigali adventure. The visit will last about two hours and later go to BK arena to watch some basketball and volleyball games. In the evening, head to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Breakfast is served at the hotel at around 7:00 AM. After the mouth-watering breakfast embark on the journey to Nyungwe National Park which is about five hours and 10 minutes drive. On arrival at the National Park visitors will be served a mouthwatering lunch at Bush Baby House restaurant.

After lunch, visitors will be paid for the lounge facility check-in. guests will spend the rest of the evening at the lodge relaxing and enjoying amenities of the lodge such as the swimming pool and the Wi-Fi to keep them connected as they view the forest, hills, and valleys of the National Park. Later in the evening dinner will be served and they stay overnight.

Breakfast is served at around 7:00 AM at the lodge facility. After breakfast, you will go for a briefing with the tourist guides and game Rangers who will tell them about what to expect on the chimpanzee tracking activity in the jungle of Nyungwe National Park. The briefing will last about 30 minutes and after at around 8:00 AM embark on the journey into the jungle to track chimpanzees and other primates. It’s important to note that this jungle is home to 5 primates that is to say chimpanzees, golden monkeys, blue monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys, and L’hoest’s. These can be encountered while on the track for chimpanzees.

The trek may go up to the afternoon. When a chimpanzee group is encountered, visitors are allowed to spend at least 60 minutes that are uninterrupted as they interact with the chimpanzees and take photographs of them. At about 2:00 PM head to the lodging facility for lunch. after lunch, at around 3:00 PM head to the forest for the exciting canopy walk adventure. This activity will offer visitors opportunities to have clearer views of the forest and the attractive lakes and mountains. At around 6:00 PM, the canopy walk will be done, and visitors will head to their lodging facility for dinner and an overnight stay.

Breakfast will be served at the lodging facility at around 8:00 AM. After the mouthwatering breakfast at 9:00 AM, visitors will take out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Kigali International Airport.

The journey will take you through the last reputation and the remote areas of Rwanda as they view the spectacular mountains, other species of wildlife, and the communities. The journey will last for about 5 hours and visitors will have a mouthwatering lunch at the restaurant as they await their flights back home.
